Packed! and Some Thoughts on Adoption...

Our stuff is finally all packed, except for a few little last minute things. We're ready to roll! We plan to keep this blog going while we're in Viet Nam, and I've changed the settings to make it a lot easier for you, our cherished followers, to add comments, as we sooooooooooooooo enjoy them, and will especially when we're overseas!

Saw a friend today who is still waiting for her first little one from China. She'll be such an amazing maman, and her spouse an awesome papa, if fate can only move its tail and let them! She was part of a group of 3 couples awaiting adoption at the same time we were waiting for Savannah, and it makes no sense that we're travelling for our second before she goes for her first. Adoption, whether local or international, has a lot to do with luck and timing and which way the wind is blowing. It is the most unpredictable, uncontrollable, inexplicable process I've ever lived through, and to ask those of us who have been through it to explain it is asking us to justify mysterious decisions for which we know not the basis, the logic, or even the origins. All one can do is be there and empathize about the challenges inherent to the wait.  Please think about my patiently waiting friends today, and all those in that situation, and hope with me for them to get through this difficult journey and have the happiest of happy outcomes at the end.
